State 29 Sending Readers to the Register

Reading Time: 1

State 29 is not interested in offering comments to a reporter from the Des Moines Register. But State 29 is interested in sending readers over to the Register every chance possible. Here’s the number links to Register stories from State 29’s blog each month:

  • January – 35 links
  • February – 41 links
  • March – 50 links

In April, it’s up to 42 links so far. That extrapolates to 60 for the month of April at the current rate. Just about 35% of State 29’s posts refer us to Register stories.

So tell us, State 29, are you getting paid to inflate the Register’s Google PageRank?

Sorry Mikey, State isn’t going to link to you. Nice try though. I generally like your blog, but this criticism of everything State 29 is getting old fast.

And my own math shows that about 40 percent of your posts (15 out of 38) have dealt with the Register, so what’s the difference?

Dang, my attempt at fame by taking shots at State 29 won’t work. I was hoping to sell my blog for at least half of the $280 million you’re getting to unload State 29. Oh well, back to more mundane methods of getting fame and money.

And oh yeah, the 3 people who read this blog already read the Register. Compare that to the 50,000 who read State 29 and I’m just small potatoes.
