Erin Crawford has nice article on people offended by reality-TV contestant Tana’s swearing.

Fucking Iowans!

Iowans suffer from two conflicting virtues: protestant self-righteousness and modesty that prevents criticism of others. The combination of these two virtues creates a lot of pent up anger in most Iowans. And the criticisms leveled against The Apprentice’s Tana are a release of that anger.

    I wasn’t offended by her swearing, but I did think she was more than a bit full of herself. Embarrassingly so.

    boo! I drop the f-bomb like it’s my job sometimes. I know more Iowans that swear regularly than ones that don’t. We’re not so conservative.
